Chalk Minuette / Colgate - GalaCon 2017

During the GalaCon I met a very likable brony named LaikenPone, who asked me if I could draw a chalk Colgate / Minuette. Consisting just of shades of blue and with no dark blue chalk available (in general darker and more intensive chalk colors such as an actual red etc. seem to be hard to come by) Colgate / Minuette would be a special challenge, but I wanted to give it a try after completing the portraits dedicated to the guests of the GalaCon and after the end of the panels when there was plenty of time.
Every time when I had been chalk drawing during the GalaCon I had invited bronies around to pick up the chalk and join the fun, but up to that point it had been almost only who had accepted the invitation. Now however, with no more time pressure to get to the next panel bronies around were a lot more ready to pick up the chalk and the result was a "post-galatic-chalk-party" I am going to write more about in an upcomming journal about the Sunday at the Galacon.
The colors for Minuette / Colgate don't fit 100% since using charcoal to darken a color doesn't really produce a darker version of the original color but rather a much more dark grayish one (while brightening up a color with white works out quite well). Apart from this color problem however I'm really quite happy with how Minuette / Colgate turned out. Maybe her ears could be a little larger, but other than that I'm really happy. She was a collaborative effort too, because the aforementioned LaikenPone filled in much of the color of the lighter part of her mane.
